Imagining Images

Sometimes it's tricky just to take the time to work on ideas and new images. It's easy to get tied up in all the  nitty-gritty of running a business: Keeping social media going. Databases. Paperwork. Receipt filing. But when you do get a chance to stop it helps to take visual reminders of what you've been doing.

St Giles Cathedral lit from below by fireworks and surrounded by the smoke from fireworks moments before.

There couldn't be more contrast between the drama of watching the fireworks to celebrate the end of the Edinburgh International Festival  and a picnic in a friend's garden in the sun. Both were incredibly enjoyable and full of images which, once captured, at least stand some chance of making it to print. I would love to be able to capture all the colours in the picture below - but I think that might be a bit of a printing challenge!

picnic, dog,
Now I've taken some time to enjoy the company of friends and the culture that Edinburgh can offer I just need to knuckle down and get some new drawings done. This is easier after some lovely orders over the weekend. A print which was a one off has been sold! I don't know if I'll ever do those colours again. Or if I do, they'll never print the same way. I love that even with the repetition of printed images each one has its own quirks and each is unique.

Slightly late for a weekend catch-up post.
There's a wee question over on facebook as I'm trying to gather some feedback for a new line. If you have a moment to spare (literally ONE question) - please pop over and let me know your thoughts.
